Any favorite eateries on the way home to CO from Spearfish, SD?

Hi everyone,

I know a couple of you have traveled to South Dakota and was wondering if you had and remember the name of any favorite places you ate at and would recommend that might be original to the Belle Fourche, Rapid City, Custer areas in South Dakota. We'll be driving up on the 5th and bringing a cooler with lunch items and then going to a BBQ that night so we'll only have to buy Breakfast and Lunch or Dinner on the way back on the 6th and those are the cities we'll be driving through in SD then we'll be connecting to I25 a little out of Glendo, WY. If you do have any recommendations that would be great, if not we'll still have fun looking for and trying a restaurant we haven't heard of before. Thanks in advance!

Finally got THE check from Uncle Sam!

Now I feel good again about this whole situation with taxes. We officially got what we were owed for the stimulus payment after they deducted what we owed, deposited it right after I checked the mail and they even credited back what I paid to set up the agreement since we only recently set it up! Thank goodness! So I got two new tires on the Honda which have needed to be replaced about 2 or 3 years ago but haven't been able to do and had the belts tightened which have been squeaking for awhile, so Dave is much safer on the road now. And we can take that to South Dakota for our overnight trip for John's (Dave's best friend) wedding celebration and save some gas money compared to the truck. Unfortunately the rest will go to the state, but at least we'll get it all paid off before next tax season. HMMPF!

NO agreements when you know you're getting stimulus check

Man the IRS is greedy! GREEDY, GREEDY, GREEDY! Even when you set up an agreement and have paid to set up such agreement they still charge you 1/4% penalty each month for not paying it in full plus interest of course. If you don't set up the agreement they charge you 1/2% penalty which still would have been cheaper for one or two months before receiving our stimulus check than paying for the set up fee of the agreement. If I realized I was still going to get penalized at such a low rate I wouldn't have wasted the money to set it up, which probably was not a lot but in these tight days of the economy it really hurts to know you could have used it for at least two tanks of gas in our truck or three in our car.

Well, at least I can feel a little good knowing that govt. and Bush are paying off my federal taxes for me and at least half my state taxes! The only good thing you will ever hear me say about that goofball spending EIGHT LOOOOOONNNNNNGGG years in office! Oh I can't wait til Jan. 20th, 2009; The end of an error and hopefully a bright new beginning!

taxes anyone?

Oh I HATE taxes and all the bologna that goes along with them! Please bear with me I am thoroughly furiated right now with the IRS and yet I am still trying to convey this in a nice way everyone who reads this can hear. We're expecting our stimulus check anytime now (at least a decent portion minus what we ended up owing in the first year we have ever owed them) and instead in the mail today comes a letter from them saying we only have paid such and such amount and giving us a small penalty, but none-the-less a penalty even though I have set up an installment agreement and did everything the lady on the phone told me to do. She said I had to send the fee first for setting up the agreement and would NOT have to add additional payment to that, but just keep sending the amount we agreed upon every month thereafter on the date we set up. I KNOW they got it and cashed it two weeks before the letter was dated or else it would still be in our account! If they tell us it just takes time to put into their system they'll be able to hear me scream from Colorado because for the government not to have better systems in place I might not be surprised to hear but is also a bunch of bologna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I scared Dave when I got so upset, he's going to call them first thing when they open Monday for me because he knows they will get a very irate woman they do NOT want to hear from. I know being in the service industry for a little while, when someone has a problem with something that the place you work for is doing they did not put that rule into place and that they are just doing what they are told to do, so 99.9% of the time I try to be decent with the messenger but this is the .1% I cannot be.

So anyway hopefully Dave will have a productive conversation and outcome. And I hope I didn't put anybody reading this off for showing my anger when it is rare for me to do so, especially in this format. Now that I've had somewhere to vent other than my husband I feel better and thank you for allowing me to do that. I'll just have to be PATIENT until after the call Monday since there's nothing more I can do until then. I love you all! Lys

P.S. Brendan is his normal, goofy self again!

Tucked in

Brendan's been in bed for an hour or so now, hopefully he feels much better tomorrow! I personally think the biggest thing he needs right now is sleep. So I'm crossing my fingers that he gets A LOT and is his normal goofy self in the morning!

Here goes

Okay, here's my first post short and sweet. My B is not feeling well and so I'm going to have to finish setting up my blog later so I can take care of him. I'm very excited to be starting a blog for the first time and can't wait to share with family and friends! Alyssa Francine
