Egg decorating

Hi everyone,

We hope you had a very nice Easter! We just relaxed around the house and the boys got to watch Pinnochio which they got from the Easter Bunny along with some suckers, sixlets and a cadbury caramel egg. They were very happy with that, it doesn't take a lot to make them happy and since they are always seeming to ask for suckers lately it worked out great. They even got to have one after eating pancakes Daddy made. Figured since it was Easter and as many of you know I rarely let the boys have sweets anyway so that was a treat in itself. We did manage to get eggs decorated this year but I did not hide them, they got to have an egg hunt at preschool last Thursday. So here are just a couple pics I took of them coloring eggs. And yes those are stickers from the deco kit on their heads that I actually stuck there.

Recommendation for book lovers!

Hi all,

About 35 minutes ago I finished reading a most wonderful story that a friend recommended to me recently. The book is titled, The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. To tell you very briefly, it's about two women who have come together for the purpose of the older one telling her story to the younger one, with many twists and turns and gradually along the way the younger one learns more about her own story. Now just by that you may think that you already have it figured out but trust me, you do not. I give you this description in a way meant to entice you into reading it to find out the truth. As well as being fresh from reading this wonderfully woven tale, I have the writer's language or some form of it still in my head. Which is why I had to come down to the computer so late, in order to have just a bit of play before going to sleep and possibly dreaming of the story thereby not getting very good sleep anyway. Let me know if any of you read it and what you think, I know I will be chatting with my friend soon to talk about it. When you've read such a good book you well know that the story sticks with you for awhile as I'm sure it will for me in the next few days, at least and it has been added to my list of favorite books for sure. Have a good Monday and take care! =)

Snow? What's That?

I almost forgot what it was like to have snow. It's been way too dry around here and I hope we get to enjoy it for at least a couple days! I'm trying to do that as opposed to wondering how quick it's going to melt, I don't want it to yet. Even though I am excited for summer, I really have missed the snow this winter. I hope those of you in our family down south are getting some too, you need it just as much! Enjoy the pics.

Any ideas please?!

Okay, so I haven't thought of much to blog on. I suppose they don't all have to be big, little notes are good too, right?

Well I'm just messing around right now since I am on hold with the boys insurance to find out exactly what we need to do to cancel once we hopefully find out that they qualify for CHP. We found out Tues that it has been on hold because they were waiting for birth certificates and our drivers licenses, do you think they could have called or written and told us we forgot vital information regarding our application? Of course not! No wonder we haven't heard anything for almost two months. Oh well, it doesn't matter to me as long as they do get covered and soon so we can cut another bill!

Any ideas anyone has are more than welcome, things I can blog without having to have a big reason or plans to do so. Right now the boys are at preschool and I am so thankful we finally have some more snow on the front range of Colorado. I'll post a picture here in a few minutes, it's so beautiful! Anyway, have a blessed day!

Parade

Here are pictures from the St. Patty's Day parade we went to on the 14th. Sorry they're a week late but we hope you enjoy! The boys really enjoyed it and the only thing they were really concerned with was wondering when and who would throw candy at them. These are the entries they enjoyed the most. It was nice to have a fun little thing to do as a family, we all had a good time.

"Thank you.....but

we've decided to hire someone else. "

Officially Dave did not get that job, but he's still been faithfully plugging away. We'll keep you updated and in the meantime I'm going to try to find more to blog about than just the job hunt. I was thinking this morning that I should re-name our blog, Dave's job hunt. While that is a big part of our life right now and important I do want and need to find other things to put on here too. So, just wanted to let you all know. We'll see what else I can come up with. Have a great day, keep positive and count your blessings!

No News, Yet

Hi all,

Just wanted to write you a quick note that Dave did not hear anything from 1st Bank yesterday about the job he interviewed for last week. He's going to call them first thing Monday morning to check if they've made their decision. I know that scenario doesn't typically bode well but we are staying as positive as we can and at the same time trying not to get our hopes too high or put all our eggs into one basket. He's also been working on applying to some government jobs still, so all we can do is keep positive and be open to what the future holds. We will keep you informed, of course. When we finally get really good news about a job, we'll probably call you all anyway! We promise!

On another note, I am getting out of the house for the first time in the last 5 days. I wasn't feeling on top of my game this week, caught a head cold, probably a small bit of whatever the boys had last week. I finally have a lot more of my energy back and the boys and I are going to a playdate with a friend of ours and her daughter Sammy. I'm looking forward to it, it's been awhile since I've just hung out with another mom and her kid(s) and since the boys have done something other than preschool.

Anyway, we hope you have a great weekend and the minute we get the best news possible we will let you know right away! We Love You All! Dave, Lys, Brendan and Carter
